Advanced Family Mediation – Advanced Theory, Skills, and Practice

Pre-requisites: Law degree or mental health professional, unless otherwise approved. Must have completed Screening for Power Imbalances and Family Violence, and Family Mediation Theory and Skills.
Embark on advanced study in Family Mediation, building upon the insights and experience gained through our foundational courses in Screening and Family Mediation.
This 3-day course will build on and apply what was learned in the Family Mediation Theory and Skills course. At least half of the Advanced Family Mediation course will be experiential learning and will combine lectures, small group work, and role plays, to cover issues such as:
- Advanced issues in Family Mediation
- Bias
- Cultural fluency
- Working with high conflict families
- Dealing with impasse
- Drafting
- Practice management
- A Family Mediation from start to finish
