About
Katrina Karasek is an associate at MDW Law, practicing in the area of family law. She was called to the Nova Scotia Bar in 2025 after articling with the firm, where she gained extensive hands-on experience in family law. Katrina holds a Juris Doctor from the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University (2024) and a Bachelor of Commerce from Queen’s University (2019).
Originally from Halifax, Katrina returned home for law school with the goal of giving back to her community. During her time in law school, she worked with the Dalhousie Legal Aid Service, where she gained invaluable experience assisting clients with a range of family law issues. This opportunity not only deepened her understanding of family law but also exposed her to the practical challenges faced by clients in emotionally difficult situations.
Katrina’s business background enhances her ability to navigate the financial complexities of family law matters, providing clients with clear, practical advice. She approaches her work with a client-focused mindset, guiding individuals through difficult legal challenges with a pragmatic approach.
Outside of work, Katrina enjoys exploring hiking trails, searching for the best croissant in Halifax, and visiting local farmers markets.
