About
Clare is an associate at MDW Law practicing in the area of family law in the Halifax office. She was called to the Nova Scotia Bar in 2025. Clare holds a Juris Doctor from the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University and a Bachelor of Science from St. Francis Xavier University.
While in law school, Clare worked with Dalhousie Legal Aid Service, assisting individuals experiencing housing or income insecurity in navigating the legal system. During this experience, she was exposed to a variety of family law matters, including child protection, divorce, and separation. She also spent time volunteering with organizations including the Elizabeth Fry Society, as well as acting an Executive Member of the LEAF Halifax team and is passionate about addressing barriers faced by women and non-gender conforming individuals.
With a background in science and prior experience in personal injury law, Clare brings a thoughtful approach to legal problem-solving. Clare recognizes that family law is as much about people as it is about legal principles. Clients are often navigating some of the most emotional and challenging moments of their lives, and she approaches each case with empathy, patience, and respect. Clare believes in clear communication, practical guidance, and creating a space where clients feel supported throughout the process.
Outside the office, you’ll likely find Clare hiking a local trail, trying a new restaurant, or hanging out with her beloved cat, Maizy.
