Through all stages of Anne’s career, she has strived to build a practice with the core values of social justice and equality at its core. Prior to pursuing her legal career, Anne worked in the financial sector for six years, assisting clients from all walks of life. Before joining the MDW team in 2015, Anne worked as a summer student and articled clerk with a mid-size firm in Truro and then as an associate lawyer at a small firm in Tantallon. Anne brings with her a wealth of knowledge and skills from these prior experiences, which enhances her competence in a variety of practice areas.
Anne is an associate lawyer at MDW Law who practices primarily in the areas of family and real estate law. Anne’s goal is to provide high-quality service and empower her clients to make wise decisions based on their specific needs and interests. Anne is settlement-focused and takes great pride in resolving highly emotional matters in the most family-centred approach possible. Anne’s focus is on fair but firm negotiations and delivering satisfactory results for her clients. Anne has also completed her training in Collaborative Family Law, and looks forward to assisting clients in this interests-based model of negotiation. If a matter does proceed to trial, Anne has experience representing clients in the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia, the Provincial Court of Nova Scotia, and the Small Claims Court of Nova Scotia. Anne is excited to be building her real estate practice and provides personalized, timely services for her property clients. Anne works closely with the rest of the MDW Law real estate team to ensure her clients’ needs are met and their interests are protected through all stages of their individual transaction.
Anne has a busy and active personal life and takes great pride in giving back to the community. Anne was recently placed with her “little” with the Dartmouth Big Brothers Big Sisters, who has kept her busy, active, and having lots of fun. Anne is also a mentor with the Feminist Legal Association at Dalhousie Schulich School of Law. Anne’s pride and joy is her “fur baby” Riley the beagle, who loves long walks on the beach and finding new ways to get into the garbage. Anne is an avid traveler and is eager to plan her next adventure abroad. In her “down” time, Anne is often found on the trails of Shubie Park or soaking up cottage life at her family’s home on the Northumberland Strait.
